Context Speciic Interaction Models

چکیده

Interaction models for categorical data play a central role in applied statistics. In particular, decomposable models have obtained a dominant position as the basis for structural learning and the development of eecient computational algorithms in connection with Bayesian networks for decision support. The present paper generalizes decompos-able models to cover log linear models, where interactions may be present only in speciic contexts (CSI-models). It is shown that the model function of a decomposable CSI-model has a factorization in terms of marginals. It is illustrated that this provides a much richer class of operational models, which must be expected to be the starting point for the development of a new generation of eeective computational algorithms for decision support systems based on Bayesian networks with context speciic independencies.

Evaluation of the Humanity Research Paradigms based on Analysis of Human – Environment Interaction

As claimed by many behavioral scientists, designing should be based on the knowledge of interaction between human and environment. Environmental quality is also created in the context in which humans interact with their environment. To achieve such quality, designers should develop appropriate models for explaining this relationship, and this requires an understanding of human nature and the en...

Aspects of Natural Language Generation

Natural language generation is a knowledge-intensive, goal-directed process involving many interacting choices. Some questions that a generation system must answer include: what information needs to be included in the output to satisfy the speaker's or writer's communicative goals? how should a discourse contribution be structured to ensure its coherence? which modalities should be used to maxi...

Mobile Robot Simulation by Means of Acquired Neural Network Models

This paper presents experiments with a Nomad 200 mobile robot, acquiring a sensor model of a speciic environment and using this model to predict robot-environment interaction. Data obtained by operating the real robot in the real target environment is used to train a set of 16 artiicial neural networks which can later be used to model robot-environment interaction and predict the behaviour of t...

Plug-and-play: Construction of Task-speciic Expert-system Shells Using Sharable Context Ontologies

Previous approaches to the reuse of problem-solving methods have relied on the existence of a global data model to serve as the mediator among the individual methods. This hard-coded approach limits the reusability of methods and introduces implicit assumptions into the system architecture that make it diicult to combine reasoning methods in new ways. To overcome these limitations, the prot eg ...

SEISMIC OPTIMIZATION OF STEEL MOMENT RESISTING FRAMES CONSIDERING SOIL-STRUCTURE INTERACTION

The main purpose of the present work is to investigate the impact of soil-structure interaction on performance-based design optimization of steel moment resisting frame (MRF) structures. To this end, the seismic performance of optimally designed MRFs with rigid supports is compared with that of the optimal designs with a flexible base in the context of performance-based design. Two efficient me...
